Conflict Assessment and Management Process (CAMP)

Purpose

The purpose of the conflict assessment and management process in public engagement is to help MnDOT personnel to strategically plan for and address potential and known conflicts that can arise with the general public, businesses, community groups, and local government partners.

When to use this subject

Follow this process on projects where the potential for conflict or controversy has been identified. Their five major steps of the CAMP process are:

  1. Identify and analyze the context of your project or issue.
  2. Identify and analyze the potential and known conflicts with your project or issue.
  3. Develop prioritized conflict resolution strategies.
  4. Execute conflict resolution strategies.
  5. Monitor, evaluate and adjust your conflict assessment and management.

How this subject fits into the overall project development process
