Appraisal Management, Review, and Contracting Unit

Goal

The goal of this unit is to assist with property valuation efforts, appraisal review, certifying appraisal reports, and assisting with condemnation valuation efforts.

Products the unit provides

  • Advice and assistance regarding valuation procedures
  • Services regarding eminent domain procedures
  • Review of valuation reports and efforts for certification and associated computer entry
  • Assistance regarding fixture values, Minimum Compensation, specialty valuation reports, etc.
  • Help others with the varied computer systems pertaining to valuations and Consulting Services
  • Work with consultants and districts in the preparation of valuation reports

  • Assistance and advice regarding appraisal updates and hearings

  • Assistance finding and working with appraisal consultants
  • Assistance with information entry into various MnDOT computers systems
  • Assistance with monitoring valuation progress on MnDOT projects
  • Monitor contract progress in CAATS, REALMS, P-6

What you need to provide to the unit

  • Appraisal reports in draft format (PDF) and then signed appraisal reports for certification
  • Information regarding properties to be prepared for appraisal or hearings
  • Descriptions of items and/or rights anticipated to be damaged
  • Documentation regarding items being acquired or fixtures and/or property rights to be damaged

  • Adequate inclusions and descriptions of property rights to be acquired and items damaged
  • Documentation of project impacts
  • Project limits need to be clear
  • Projects updates and/or revisions when known
  • Completed field title, sketches, and market data forms
