MnDOT’s 2024-25 Name a Snowplow contest
It’s time to embrace your inner creative genius! Back by popular demand, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is inviting you to help name another set of snowplows—one for each MnDOT district.
Got a witty, unique, Minnesota-inspired, or winter-themed name idea? We want to hear it!
Submissions will be accepted through Friday, Dec. 20, at noon.
Submit your name ideas!
Here’s how it works:
- Each person may submit only one name idea.
- Keep it short and sweet: no more than 30 characters (including letters and spaces).
- Keep it family-friendly—no profanity or inappropriate language allowed.
- Politically inspired names (including phrases, slogans or plays on politicians’ names) will not be considered. Naming snowplows is meant to be fun and lighthearted, so we’re going to keep this contest nonpartisan and nonpolitical.
- Past winners are retired champions—submit something fresh!
MnDOT staff will narrow down the submissions and present the top contenders for public voting in January 2025. Will your idea make the cut?
Let's keep this fun and frosty! Help us name our snowplows and be part of the wintry magic Minnesotans know and love.
