2025 bridge work

MnDOT will replace the Hwy 200 bridge over the Willow River, just southeast of Hwy 6 in Remer, Cass County. A truck and through traffic detour is necessary to complete work.

Summary of work

      • Replace Hwy 200 bridge with a double-box structure
      • Resurface road approaches
      • Update shoulder barriers/railing and ditch slope
      • Install fresh road marks

Upcoming impacts

Prep-work

Aug. 4 to mid-August
    • The current Hwy 200 bridge will remain open to all travelers the first two weeks
    • Motorists to encounter flaggers, slower speeds or sudden stops at the bridge as crews:
      • Install the Hwy 200 truck detour
      • Install a temporary one-lane bypass bridge for local traffic east of Hwy 200, includes temporary portable signals

Hwy 200 southeast of Hwy 6 in Remer to 74th Ave.

  • A temporary narrow bypass bridge will allow local smaller average size cars/pick-up trucks and emergency responders to cross during construction. Expect:
    • Bridge restrictions: trucks over 40 feet long and/or a 9-ton axle weight
    • Temporary signals at each end
    • Alternate one-way traffic
    • Speed limit 30 mph
    • Drivers should prepare to stop and wait
