MnDOT is studying the Hwy 169 corridor through Hibbing from Hwy 37 to 13th Street East. In this stretch, there are 4 signalized intersections, 6 partial controlled intersections and more access points.
There will also be an Intersection Control Evaluation conducted at the Hwy 169 and 37th Street intersection. The traffic signal at this location needs to be replaced.
MnDOT hosted a public meeting on Dec. 11, 2023, in the Hibbing Memorial Building to present possible alternatives for the Hwy 169 corridor study. Watch a brief presentation describing the alternatives, and then view the proposed alternatives below.
Intersection alternatives have been developed at 13th Street, 15th Street, Howard Street, 23rd Street, 25th Street, Gray Street, 31st Street, 37th Street, 39th Street and two business intersections along Hwy 169 in Hibbing. Look through the alternatives and consider safety improvements, traffic flow, pedestrian and bicycle facilities and other relevant information.
