Bridge project opens Oct. 15 on Highway 212 west of Plato

WILLMAR, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is opening the bridge crossing Buffalo Creek on Highway 212, west of County Road 9, in Plato by the end of the day Thursday, Oct. 15. Drivers should slow down and use caution, as crews finish remaining work.

Work will resume in the spring of 2027.

The project replaces two bridges to provide a smoother driving surface and extend the bridges’ lifespans. Ames Construction Inc. is the contractor for the $5.7 million project.
