I-94 at Lowry Hill Tunnel in Minneapolis to close nightly Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 for cleaning
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Both directions of Interstate 94 through the Lowry Hill Tunnel in Minneapolis will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, and 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Westbound I-94 traffic will be detoured via the Hennepin Avenue/Lyndale Avenue South exit to Lyndale Avenue to I-94. Eastbound I-94 traffic will use the Lyndale Avenue South exit to I-94.
Additional ramp closures during this period include:
- Northbound I-35W ramp to westbound I-94
- Olson Memorial Highway/Highway 55 ramp to eastbound I-94
- Eastbound I-394 ramp to eastbound I-94
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change.
MnDOT urges drivers to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
In addition to cleaning inside the Lowry Hill Tunnel to improve visibility and safety for motorists, crews also will remove accumulated debris, repair guardrails and more.
