Overnight Highway 169 closure in Jordan Oct. 8-9

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter an overnight closure in both directions of Highway 169 in Jordan Oct 8-9 to allow construction crews to safely pour cement for a bridge at the new Highway 169 and Highway 282/County Road 9 interchange, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 until 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, crews will close both directions of Highway 169 between Highway 21 (Broadway Street) in Jordan and County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue) in St. Lawrence Township.

Motorists should follow the posted detours:

  • Southbound Highway 169: Highway 21 (Broadway Street), County Road 66 (Old Highway 169 Boulevard) and County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue).
  • Northbound Highway 169: County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue), County Road 66 (Old Highway 169 Boulevard) and Highway 21 (Broadway Street).

The temporary intersection at Highway 169 and Creek Lane will remain open, except for southbound Highway 169 traffic.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.

MnDOT, in partnership with the city of Jordan and Scott County, is building a new interchange at Highway 169 and Highway 282/County Road 9 from spring 2025 through 2027. Construction will include two bridges, large drainage culverts, two roundabouts, a pedestrian tunnel, sidewalks, retaining walls and noise walls. The project will improve safety and traffic flow and create better connections for pedestrians and bicyclists.
