Overnight Highway 169 closures in Jordan on Sept. 16 and 17
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter consecutive overnight closures on Highway 169 in Jordan beginning Sept. 16 and 17 to allow construction crews to install bridge beams for the new interchange at Highway 169 and Highway 282/County Road 9, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 until 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, crews will close southbound Highway 169 between Highway 21 in Jordan and County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue) in St. Lawrence Township. The temporary intersection at Highway 169 and Creek Lane will remain open except for southbound Hwy 169 traffic. The posted detour is Highway 21 (Broadway Street) to County Road 66 (Old Highway 169 Boulevard) to County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue).
Then at 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, northbound Highway 169 will be reduced to a single lane from County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue) to Highway 282/County Road 9 to prepare for the second night of bridge beam installation. Crews will fully close northbound Highway 169 between County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue) and Creek Lane at 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 until 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18. The posted detour is County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue) to County Road 66 (Old Highway 169 Boulevard) to Highway 21 (Broadway Street).
When this work is completed, northbound Highway 169 will reopen to two lanes in this area. However, southbound Highway 169 will continue to be reduced to one lane between Highway 21 and Highway 282/County Road 9 through September for noise wall construction.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
MnDOT, in partnership with the city of Jordan and Scott County, is building a new interchange at Highway 169 and Highway 282/County Road 9 from spring 2025 through 2027. Construction will include two bridges, large drainage culverts, two roundabouts, a pedestrian tunnel, sidewalks, retaining walls and noise walls. The project will improve safety and traffic flow and create better connections for pedestrians and bicyclists.
