Roundabout at Highways 212 and 15 near Brownton opens Sept. 4
BROWNTON, Minn. – Construction of the roundabout at the intersection of Highways 212 and 15 near Brownton is nearly complete, and the detour is expected to be removed by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Traffic has been detoured while crews built the roundabout to improve safety.
Roundabouts reduce fatal crashes by up to 90 percent and injury crashes by roughly 75 percent. The project also involved resurfacing at the railway and Highway 15 intersection to improve the road surface.
Midwest Contracting was the contractor for this $3.5 million project.
