Eastbound Interstate 494 ramp to southbound Highway 77 in Bloomington closes Sept. 8 for bridge work

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, crews will close the eastbound Interstate 494 ramp to southbound Highway 77 through mid-October for bridge maintenance work, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Motorists traveling from eastbound I-494 to southbound Hwy 77 should use the interchange ramps from eastbound Interstate 494 to northbound Highway 77 to westbound Interstate 494 to southbound Highway 77 as a detour.

Additional traffic impacts through mid-October:

  • The northbound Hwy 77 ramp to eastbound I-494 is currently closed through mid-October. Motorists can use the Lindau Lane/Killebrew Drive exit to eastbound I-494.
  • American Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in both directions between Old Cedar Avenue South and Thunderbird Road.
  • Intermittent trail closures on both sides of American Boulevard within the work area. Trail users should follow posted signage to cross American Boulevard and access the open trail.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
