Bridge repairs begin Monday, Aug. 17, on Anoka County Road 10/Mounds View Boulevard bridge spanning Highway 65 in Spring Lake Park

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Repairs to the damaged outside bridge girder on the Anoka County Road 10 bridge over southbound Highway 65 in Spring Lake Park will begin Monday, Aug. 17, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. As crews begin mobilizing on Monday, Aug. 17, motorists will encounter daily left (inside) lane closures on the southbound highway from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday next week.

The loop ramp from northbound Highway 65 to westbound County Road 10/Mounds View Boulevard has been closed since Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, when a semi-tractor trailer carrying a premanufactured pedestrian bridge struck and damaged the westbound Anoka County Road 10/Mounds View Boulevard bridge in Spring Lake Park. The outside (facia) beam on the north side of the westbound bridge was struck by the over-height load. The new pedestrian bridge was traveling southbound on Highway 65 enroute to the site of a new crossing over Coon Rapids Boulevard in Coon Rapids.

A full weekend closure to demolish and remove the deck and damaged bridge beam over the southbound highway is tentatively planned from 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28 through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31.

Weather permitting, the bridge repairs should be completed by late this fall.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.
