MnDOT Launches I-694 study, Asks for Public Input
ROSEVILLE, Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is seeking public input as part of the I-694 study, a long-range planning effort focused on improving travel along I-694 between Brooklyn Boulevard in Brooklyn Center and Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills.
The study will evaluate current transportation conditions, identify future needs and develop recommendations for both near-term and long-term improvements along one of the Twin Cities metro area’s busiest freeway corridors.
The survey is open now and residents, commuters, businesses and community members are encouraged to participate to help shape the future vision for the corridor. MnDOT also will host a public meeting on Aug. 12 and be part of several local events to share information about the study and gather additional feedback from the community.
The I-694 study is a planning effort only and will help with a resurfacing project 2032 or later as well as other projects along the corridor. Recommendations developed through the study may help guide future transportation investments over the next 20 years.
The study area includes portions of Brooklyn Park, Fridley, Columbia Heights, New Brighton and Arden Hills.
Community members can learn more about the study, participate in the survey and find public meeting information at: https://talk.dot.state.mn.us/i694-brooklyncenter-ardenhills
