Three-week lane closure begins Friday, July 10 on southbound Hwy 51/Snelling Avenue in Roseville

ROSEVILLE, Minn. —Southbound Hwy 51/Snelling Ave. will be reduced to a single lane between Old Snelling Ave./Co. Rd. 76 and Asbury Ave. in Roseville, beginning Fri, July 10 according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. During the closure, construction crews will install storm sewer drainage pipes along the west side of the highway. The lane closure will be removed by the end of the day on Mon, July 27.

MnDOT is repairing and resurfacing Snelling Ave. between Hwy 36 in Roseville and Grey Fox Rd. in Arden Hills. This project will also add connectivity with a new trail section providing access between Lydia Ave. and Snelling Ave. North, upgrade signal systems and improve accessibility at pedestrian ramps. This work is necessary to maintain the highway system and to provide a smoother road surface and extend pavement life, reduce congestion, improve traffic flow and accessibility and improve safety along the road.

Repairs and resurfacing on the Hwy 51 project began in early May. Work on the highway will be completed by late August, before the start of the Minnesota State Fair. Additional work on the signal systems will begin after Labor Day and be completed by early October.
Plan ahead by checking 511, and give yourself additional time to reach your destination.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.
