Westbound Interstate 94 in St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale closed June 26 weekend for bridge painting
ROSEVILLE, Minn. –The Minnesota Department of Transportation is continuing work to repair nine bridges over I-94 and I-35E in St. Paul, as well as the full replacement of the John Ireland Blvd. bridge over I-94. A portion of westbound I-94 will be closed starting 10 p.m. Friday, June 26, through 5 a.m. Monday, June 29, while bridges in the area are painted.
Westbound I-94 will be closed between I-694/I-494 in Woodbury and I-35E in St. Paul. During the closure, westbound traffic will be directed from northbound I-694 to westbound I-694 to southbound I-694. View a detour map.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule dependent and subject to change.
MnDOT encourages people traveling in and around the area to plan ahead and review closures, especially for high-traffic summer events. MnDOT also urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
This project requires periodic weekend closures of I-94 and partial bridge closures to ensure proper maintenance of bridges along the interstate. The project is on schedule, with all work expected to be complete this September, weather permitting. We appreciate your patience during construction.
