Northfield, Rice County transportation is the topic Sept. 19 for Coffee and Conversation with MnDOT
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a coffee and conversation session on transportation on Tuesday, Sept. 19 in Northfield with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Rice County, and the city of Northfield.
The gathering is from 1:30 p.m.- 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Perkins restaurant, 1401 Riverview Drive
Northfield, MN 55057.
Interested residents may stop by for coffee and discussion with Mark Schoenfelder, district engineer for MnDOT’s southeast Minnesota District 6; Dennis Luebbe, Rice County Highway engineer; and David Bennett, Northfield director of public works.
A short presentation on transportation projects in the area will be made, but much of the time will be left for residents to ask questions and learn about transportation efforts and challenges in Northfield and Rice County and the region. MnDOT hosts these events with its local partners to encourage sharing information and discussion on transportation issues in an informal setting.
“We like to briefly talk about what we have planned for road and bridge projects, but we’re more interested in hearing the transportation ideas and concerns from the people who live in the communities,” said Schoenfelder.
Schoenfelder has hosted similar events in the past with local partners in Freeborn and Dodge counties.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all.
