MnDOT to host Hwy 19 improvements project meeting April 20 in Lonsdale

LONSDALE, Minn. – The public is invited to attend an in-person public meeting April 20 in Lonsdale to learn about potential improvements to Highway 19, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 116 SE Alabama St. in Lonsdale. The meeting will focus on the western half of the project corridor located between Interstate 35 and Highway 13 northwest of Lonsdale.

MnDOT staff will share the details of the project with area motorists and residents. Attendees can learn about the Highway 19 study, which prepares for two repaving projects on both sides of I-35 in 2027 and 2030. MnDOT is also considering other improvements, such as turn lanes, guardrail, lighting, and snow fences. The public is invited to review concept drawings of potential improvements and share feedback with the project team. There will be no formal presentation. Attendees can arrive and leave at any time. People who are unable to attend the meeting will be able to review the materials afterward on the project website.
