About this project

We are planning to repair and resurface pavement along Hwy 7 between the Hennepin County/Carver County line west of St. Bonifacius and Christmas Lake Rd. in Shorewood.
We are also planning to install a cable median barrier along portions of Hwy 7 between Hwy 41/Hazeltine Blvd. in Shorewood to Oak St. in Excelsior, and between the I-494 interchange and Shady Oak Rd. in Minnetonka. The cable median barrier will not block/close access to/from Hwy 7 or any cross streets.
This work is scheduled to begin in 2029 and will make key improvements to this highway and intersections.
This project is currently in the preliminary design phase. During this phase, we will provide more detailed designs as we work toward the final design and inform the public on the planned design elements. The preliminary design is being shaped and informed by public input and results from previous studies of Hwy 7 through the area.
Sign up for email updates to receive information on how you can share your input and stay up to date on this project.
Note: The concrete barrier that was discussed during the study will not be included in this project. This is a pavement preservation project, and a concrete median barrier would require road reconstruction, which is outside of the scope of work for this project.
