2017 Greater Minnesota Transit Investment Plan

Get involved

Public participation is a key component of the plan, and your input will deeply inform its recommendations. If you've shared your thoughts with us, thanks so much for your input! We're preparing the results from our public outreach and will share them as soon as they're available in the coming months. If you still have comments about transit in Greater Minnesota, please share them with us.

You told us about...

Your daily travel

We posted an interactive travel wikimap and survey so you could tell us about destinations where you typically travel or new places where you would like to travel to as part of your daily travel. The wikimap tool was an interactive mapping platform, similar to google maps, that allowed you to tag your travel origins and destinations with the click of a mouse. This will help us understand how people are crossing boundaries throughout their travel and help us support seamless transit systems. Not a fan of maps? You took our brief daily travel survey instead.

How you'd build your own transit system

We posted a tool that allowed you to design the ideal transit system to meet your transportation needs, so you could tell us how you would change transit in your community. The state of Minnesota is home to numerous transit systems, ranging from large urban systems to county services that pick you up at your door and take you where you need to go.

Transit rider surveys

Transit rider surveys were available onboard transit vehicles across the state from Nov. 2-6, 2015. Thank you to everyone who filled out a survey on your transit trip! If you still have comments about transit in Greater Minnesota, please share them with us.

Stakeholder meetings

Seven stakeholder meetings were held throughout Greater Minnesota in September 2015 to identify existing challenges and confirm existing transit services. Participants included human service agency staff, city administrators, transportation coordinators and riders.
