Minnesota Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Plan virtual workshop
By: Siri Simons, Sustainability Program Supervisor and Mark Vizecky, State Aid Operations Engineer
Minnesota is working to become the leading state for plug-in electric vehicle (EV) use in the Midwest. Our goal is for 20 percent of light-duty vehicles in the state to be EVs by 2030, the development of this plan will establish the framework to ensure that EV fast charging infrastructure is in place to support this growth. As part of the bipartisan infrastructure law, the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program was created to provide funds for states to install fast chargers for EVs.
Join us on Thursday, May 26 from 1 pm -2:30 pm for a virtual workshop to learn more about the Minnesota Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Plan, see the priority corridors where we’ll invest federal formula funds and tell us about opportunities and/or challenges you see when it comes to federally-funded EV fast charger corridors and locations. The workshop will include a brief presentation followed by a group discussion with other local government staff.
