Reason for retiring policy
The policy is unnecessary. The purpose of the policy was to establish the minimum standards and expectations for handling classified or sensitive information by MnDOT personnel and offices. MnDOT possesses very little data that would be covered by the policy and retiring the policy does not change the security classification of any of MnDOT’s data. Data are given their classification by federal and state laws, statutes, and rules, primarily 49 CFR Part 1520 and Minnesota Statutes Chapter 13.
