Hwy 212 and Co. Rd.9 intersection will be closed May 31

WILLMAR, Minn. – As part of the Minnesota Department of Transportation Hwy 212 Sacred Heart project, the intersection of Hwy 212 and Renville Co. Rd.9 will be closed Wednesday, May 31 to allow crews to remove the existing pavement.

Co. Rd.9 will be closed from North Street to 820th Avenue and traffic will be routed using North Street, 160th Street, and 820th Avenue (map attached). Access will be maintained to businesses near the intersection.

Work is expected to begin at 7 a.m. and be completed by 7 p.m., weather permitting. After the pavement is removed, crews will add gravel to the intersection and reopen Co. Rd.9 to traffic.

Project summary

The project includes resurfacing Hwy 212 with concrete from 2.3 miles east of Hwy 23 to Co. Rd.6 in Renville. Hwy 212 will be reconstructed through Sacred Heart; sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and adjacent driveways will be upgraded to meet current American with Disabilities Act standards.
