Twin Ports Interchange detour at Haines Road temporarily rerouted beginning June 1
DULUTH, Minn. – Motorists using the Haines Road detour for the Twin Ports Interchange project will encounter closures and a revised detour between June 1, and June 6. The Minnesota Department has been using Haines Road as a formal detour route for the Twin Ports Interchange project. Due to the need for CN Railroad to make repairs to the railroad crossing, Haines Road in West Duluth will close at the railroad crossing near where Haines Road and 40th Avenue West meet, near the intersection of West 8th Street.
Signs will be posted on Haines Road notifying people of the closure, and of the newly recommended detour route. The revised detour will follow 8th Street, 57th Avenue West, Highland Street, Getchell Road, Stebner Road and Morris Thomas Road.
