MnDOT to install temporary lane on Hwy 62 beginning May 18

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Starting May 18, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin 62 and I-494 in preparation for upcoming construction as part of the I-494 Edina to Richfield project.

, 62 between Highway 100 and Valley View Road will be reduced to a single lane. Crews will be re-striping Highway 62 and adding a temporary travel lane Road. The temporary travel lane will remain in place until the I-494 Edina to Richfield project is complete. The entrance ramp from southbound Valley View Road onto westbound Highway 62 will also be closed during this time.

Beginning 7 p.m. Sunday, May 21, crews will be working overnight on I-494 between East Bush Lake Road and the I-35W/I-494 interchange to construct crossovers and widen lanes on I-494. Motorists can expect to see intermittent lane and shoulder closures nightly, from Sunday evening through Friday morning, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. until Friday, June 23. There may also be some occasional weekend overnight closures.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slowdown in work zones where workers are present.
