Interstate 94 long-term lane and ramp closures begin May 15 in Washington County

Roseville, Minn. – According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, motorists will encounter long-term lane and ramp closures in Oakdale on Interstate 94 between Highway 120/Century Avenue and the I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange starting Monday, May 15, for road construction.

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, May 15, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes between Highway 120/Century Avenue and the I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange through late July. At the same time, construction crews will also close the entrance ramp from Highway 120/Century Avenue to eastbound I-94 through late July. Motorists can bypass the ramp closure by using Hudson Road N., McKnight Road and eastbound I-94.

Then, starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, westbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes between the I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange and Highway 120/Century Avenue through late July.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.

MnDOT will be resurfacing the pavement and making other improvements to I-94 between Highway 120/Century Avenue and the St. Croix River through fall 2024. The work will improve safety, traffic flow and ride smoothness.
