Hwy 19 east of Henderson to Hwy 169 closing at 11:30 a.m. due to Minnesota River flooding

Motorists should use alternate routes

MANKATO, Minn. – (11:10 a.m.)  The Minnesota Department of Transportation is closing Highway 19 from Henderson to Highway 169 at 11:30 a.m. today due to flooding from the Minnesota River. Highway 19 will remain closed until further notice.

Motorists will need to find an alternate route as Highway 93 south of Henderson is already closed due to flooding from the Rush River.

MnDOT crews will continue to monitor the flooded highways, and will open them as soon as it is safe to do so. The roadways will reopen when water has receded, and crews are able to make any necessary repairs.

Highways that remain closed:

  • Highway 19 east of Henderson
  • Highway 93 south of Henderson

When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
