Oak Lake rest area project near Erskine begins May 1

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced today, beginning May 1, the Oak Lake rest area east of Erskine will be under construction. There will not be any impacts to motorists on Highway 2. There will be a temporary closure of the plaza, including the restrooms, in late June.

The contractor for this $2.29 million dollar project is KGM Contractors Inc.. This project will create improved pedestrian accessibility and a longer lasting driving surface.
