Weekend closure set April 21-24 for West Main Street/Greenhaven Road beneath Hwy 10 in Anoka

Roseville, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close West Main St./Greenhaven Rd. to all traffic under Hwy 10 from 8 p.m. Friday, April 21, through 5 a.m. Monday, April 24. The closure will allow construction crews to demolish and remove the remaining half of the old Highway 10 bridge. Once the bridge is removed, construction will begin on the new bridge to carry eastbound Highway 10 over West Main Street. During the bridge demolition, motorists are advised to allow extra time for detours.

Crews will work 24-hours a day during the weekend closure, and residents in the area may experience some round-the-clock noise, lights and vibrations.

During this year’s construction closures and detours, motorists are reminded to follow the signed detours, avoid cutting through neighborhoods and allow extra travel time. A list of local detours is available on the project website at mndot.gov/metro/projects/hwy10-anoka.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather permitting and subject to change.

MnDOT and the city of Anoka are working together to repair aging roads and bridges and build new interchanges on the highway between Thurston Avenue and 7th Avenue in Anoka. The rebuilt road will improve traffic flow, decrease congestion and increase safety along and across Highway 10.

Construction is expected to be complete by the spring of 2024.
