Postponed to March 16—Let’s Talk Transportation public event for Highways 65 and 23 study

Baxter, Minn. – The Let’s Talk Transportation event for a Highways 65 and 23 corridor study in Mora, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22, is postponed due to the anticipated major snowstorm and dangerous travel conditions across the state, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

“We have opted to postpone the public event to ensure the safety of the community, our staff and guests. On behalf of the project team, we apologize for the inconvenience,” said Tom Cruikshank, project manager at MnDOT.

The rescheduled meet-and-greet will now take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16. It will be hosted at Mora City Hall, 101 S Lake St., Mora, MN. There will not be a formal presentation; guests may come and go at their leisure.

MnDOT’s corridor study in Mora covers the area on Highway 65 between Ninth Street and the Ann River bridge and Highway 23 between Highway 65 and Mahogany Street. The study will identify future safety and access needs throughout the corridor segment. MnDOT will analyze current and future demographics, land use, development, and safety data to support the recommended improvements. The study will inform plans for reconstruction in 2030.

Visit the Let’s Talk Transportation Highway 65 and Highway 23 corridor study web page for more information or contact Stephanie Castellanos, public engagement coordinator, at Stephanie.Castellanos@state.mn.us or 218-828-5822.
