MnDOT to install piezometers along Hwy 19 in Marshall

WILLMAR, Minn. – MnDOT will be installing piezometers along Highway 19 in Marshall starting in December 2022.  Approximately 20 piezometers will be installed from Fourth Street to Bruce Street including one in Memorial Park.  Community members will start seeing stakes in the ground where the piezometers will be installed.
Piezometers determine chemicals in ground water and the amount of dewatering that will be needed during construction.  Piezometers will stay in place throughout construction in 2025 and 2026.

MnDOT is planning a large roadway project, a complete reconstruction, of Highway 19/College Drive in Marshall.  The pavement has deteriorated, and the City of Marshall needs to replace aging utilities.  Sidewalk improvements and other safety improvements for people who walk and bike will be made along the project area.  A bike lane will be striped from Marlene Street to just west of Fairgrounds Road.
