Hwy 200 east of Mahnomen to reopen today by 3 p.m.

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation will reopen Highway 200, between Mahnomen and Roy Lake, by 3 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 1. The highway has been closed since May for road construction and bridge replacement at Twin Lakes Creek.

Motorists are urged to watch for workers along the roadside this week, and expect occasional lane closures, as shoulder widening and cleanup work continue.

Crews on Highway 200 will be wrapping up construction for the season this week and next week, as weather allows. They will return in the spring to finish any remaining work, including approximately two miles of shoulder widening east of Mahnomen, culvert replacement at Beatty Creek and embankment work near Roy Lake.

The overall project included shoulder widening, pavement repairs, bridge and culvert replacements, turn lanes, and other safety and pedestrian accessibility improvements. MnDOT appreciates the public’s patience, cooperation and commitment to safety during this year’s construction.
