Hwy 52 Hader interchange ribbon cutting ceremony set for Nov. 4

ZUMBROTA, Minn. – Area residents and businesses are invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Highway 52 Zumbrota to Cannon Falls project Hader interchange, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 4 at the new interchange.

The new interchange at Highway 52 and Highway 57/Goodhue County Road 8 at Hader is a significant milestone in the project, which will continue construction through 2023. The interchange was a key element that people discussed during public engagement in the design phase. The construction of the new interchange is part of MnDOT’s two-and-half-year construction project along Highway 52 between Zumbrota and Cannon Falls. The project will address safety risks along Highway 52.

The northbound exit and entrance ramps of the interchange and Highway 57/County Road 8 will open later that day after the ceremony. The southbound lanes and the southbound exit- and entrance-ramps will open by Nov. 15.

People coming to the event should use Highway 52 and Goodhue County Road 9 to get to the event. The Highway 52 exit ramps to the ribbon-cutting site at Hader will not be open prior to the event, so use County Road 9 to reach County Road 8.

  • Northbound Highway 52 motorists should exit at County Road 9, turn right (east) and travel to Goodhue County Road 8, where they will turn right (south) to reach the new park and ride area near the interchange.
  • Southbound Highway 52 motorists should exit at Goodhue County Road 1 and travel south to County Road 9, turning left (east) and travel over Highway 52 to County Road 8, where they will turn right (south) to reach the new park and ride area near the interchange.
