Hiawatha Avenue connections to Downtown Minneapolis reopen to traffic
I-35W ramp closures begin tonight, Oct. 14
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The bridges from northbound Hiawatha Avenue to Seventh Street and from Eighth Street to southbound Hiawatha Avenue in downtown Minneapolis have reopened to traffic.
In addition, motorists will encounter I-35W road and ramp closures near downtown Minneapolis through late October to complete project wrap-up work.
The following ramp closures will begin at 10 p.m. tonight, Oct. 14 through 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17:
- The ramp from northbound I-35W to Washington Avenue/U of M/Third Street. Motorists will be detoured using northbound I-35W to Fourth Street/University Avenue.
- The ramps from southbound I-35W to westbound I-94 and 11th Avenue. Motorists will use alternate routes.
Motorists should also plan ahead for the following I-35W closures beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 through 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24:
- Northbound and southbound I-35W between I-94 and Washington Avenue will be closed. Motorists will be detoured using I-94 and Hwy 280.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive responsibly and slowdown in work zones where workers are present.
