Nightly I-94 lane closures in Washington County scheduled Oct. 16-21
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter nightly lane closures in both directions of Interstate 94 between Woodbury and Lakeland for center median construction beginning on Sunday, Oct. 16.
Each night between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., beginning on Sunday, Oct. 16, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane between Woodbury Drive and Highway 95/County Road 18.
At the same time each night, westbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes between the St. Croix River and Woodbury Drive. There are no planned ramp restrictions as part of this work. The nighttime lane closures are expected to conclude by 8 am, Friday Oct. 21.
Reminder: During the nightly median work, daytime lane closures also will remain place in both directions of I-94 between Woodbury Drive and the St. Croix River.
Please allow extra time if you travel through the area. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive responsibly, and slow down in work zones where workers are present. All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change.
I-94 between Highway 120/Century Avenue and the St. Croix River is undergoing a two-and-a-half-year pavement improvement construction project that began in July 2022. The work will improve safety, traffic flow and ride smoothness. Construction will occur in three stages with most of the work happening in 2023 and 2024.
