South Union Street and Division Street closes Oct. 14 at Hwy 65
Use alternate access while crews improve pedestrian crossing and trail
BAXTER, Minn.—The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close access at South Union Street and Division Street at Highway 65/23, Mora, to install pedestrian improvements and resurface the road and multi-use trail.
The roads will be closed at Highway 65 on Friday, Oct. 14, for two weeks. Motorists can use the frontage roads for access.
Highway 65/23 remains an active work zone between Division Street and Frontage Road with narrow lanes, no shoulders and reduced speeds. A width limit of eight feet is still in effect; oversized loads are not permitted in the entire work zone. In addition, pedestrians are NOT allowed on the bridge.
Drivers approaching the work zone should slow down and be prepared for lane shifts, changes and delays. Use caution; watch for workers and equipment.
When complete in November, the project will provide a new, wider bridge and multi-use trail along the west side that connects South Union Street to Frontage Road. The project will also improve pedestrian crossing at Division Street and storm water drainage to the Snake River.
