MnDOT to host contractor information workshop for Pigeon River International Bridge project

Duluth, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, is hosting a contractor information workshop for the Pigeon River International Bridge deck replacement project on Hwy 61 at the U.S./Canada border. The meeting is Thursday, Oct. 20, from 1:30-3 p.m. in MnDOT headquarters, 1123 Mesaba Ave., Duluth.

The purpose of the Contractor Information Workshop is to:

  • Present the project
  • Present the MnDOT bidding process
  • Present the contractor information guide
  • Provide an opportunity for prospective proponents to ask questions that pertain to the rehabilitant of the international bridge

The contractor information workshop will be held as a presentation style, with an open forum format. Representatives of the project team and various provincial, state and federal agencies will be available to discuss the project, provide information regarding applicable laws/restrictions that pertain to working in another country (if contractors are from Canada) and answer questions from interested parties about the project, timing of construction, etc. The information at the meeting will be beneficial for the preparation of a comprehensive, successful bid.
