UPDATE: Construction on Hwy 75 between Graceville and Dumont rescheduled to start Sept. 19
Traffic to be detoured for two weeks, lane closures to follow
DETROIT LAKES, Minn.—Starting Monday, Sept. 19, Highway 75 will close from Highway 28 in Graceville to County Road 6 in Dumont. For approximately two weeks, weather permitting, traffic will be detoured to Highway 28, County Road 21/County Road 15, and County Road 6, while crews replace centerline culverts ahead of paving. Driveway access will be maintained for residents, but the roadway may be temporarily impassable at the culvert sites.
Construction was originally planned to begin Sept. 6, but was delayed due to contractor scheduling conflicts.
Once the culvert work is completed, the detour will be removed and motorists can expect to encounter alternating lane closures, flaggers and pilot cars between Highway 28 in Graceville and County Road 11 in Dumont until the project is completed in mid-October.
In addition to resurfacing and culvert work, crews will be installing pedestrian ramps and sidewalks on Highway 75 and Main Street in the city of Dumont.
Central Specialties, Inc., based in Alexandria, Minn., is the prime contractor for the project. For more information about the project, visit mndot.gov/d4/projects/graceville-dumont.
