Check out a MnDOT snowplow Aug. 12 at Stewie Cruisers weekly car show in Stewartville
STEWARTVILLE, Minn. – Visitors to the Stewie Cruisers First Responder Night car show in Stewartville on Aug. 12 can check out a Minnesota Department of Transportation snowplow, talk with the operator and view other first responder vehicles during the event.
The MnDOT snowplow and its operator will be at the event from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday in the parking lot of the American Legion/2 Brothers Bar & Grill parking lot in north Stewartville. Other agencies that respond to emergencies will have vehicles at the event as well. The event is free to attend and open to all. The Stewie Cruisers hold weekly car gatherings through the summer into September in Stewartville and have been having events since 2004.
“Snowplows play an important role on our roads for safety and snow removal,” said James Hurley, a MnDOT snowplow operator who will be at the event. “This is a good chance for people to see up close what a snowplow looks like, see how big it is and learn about all of the technology that helps us do our jobs well.”
