Hwy 65 detour in Itasca, Koochiching counties begins Aug. 8
DULUTH, Minn. – A detour for the Hwy 65 resurfacing project begins Monday, Aug. 8, and is expected to last 30 days.
The nearly 18-mile detour route includes use of Hwy 1 and St. Louis County and Koochiching County roads from the intersection of Hwy 1 to Silverdale. The portion of Hwy 65 that will be closed to thru traffic is approximately 14 miles in length. Access for residents within the closed section will remain open.
The Hwy 65 project includes more than 42 miles of alternating sections of resurfacing from Hwy 1 to Hwy 8 in Itasca and Koochiching counties.
