Olson Memorial Highway/Hwy 55 reduced to a single lane – Aug. 9-15
Roseville, Minn. – Olson Memorial Highway/Highway 55 will be reduced to a single lane in both directions starting Aug. 9.
Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 9, Olson Memorial Highway/Hwy 55 will be reduced to a single lane daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Monday, Aug. 15, as crews install temporary pedestrian safety features between Bryant Avenue N. and Thomas Avenue N. These safety features help to narrow the road, creating shorter crossings and better visibility for pedestrians and drivers. The highway also will be reduced to two lanes in both directions from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m. during those days.
Olson Memorial Highway will continue to be reduced to two lanes in each direction through Friday, Nov. 4 as MnDOT evaluates the effectiveness of the safety features.
MnDOT encourages motorists to plan ahead for longer travel times on Olson Memorial Highway during the installation. All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, to drive with caution and to slow down in work zones where workers are present.
