Hwy 55 between North Dakota and Hwy 9 reopens to traffic
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. –The Minnesota Department of Transportation has reopened Highway 55 between Fairmount, ND and Highway 9. This section of the highway has been closed for road construction.
Although Highway 55 is reopened, during the next couple of weeks, motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures while crews complete final striping and install signage along the entire project, from Wendell to the Minnesota/North Dakota State Line.
The overall project included 22 1/2 miles of resurfacing and the replacement of four box culverts. Visit the project website to learn more: mndot.gov/d4/projects/hwy55.
MnDOT thanks area residents, visitors and the traveling public for their cooperation, patience, and commitment to safety throughout the duration of construction.
