Stillwater Lift Bridge closed July 19-21 for electrical repairs
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Bicyclists and pedestrians will be unable to use the Stillwater Lift Bridge starting 6 a.m., Tuesday, July 19 until 6 p.m., Thursday, July 21. Crews will replace an electrical cable that powers the bridge’s lift span.
During the repairs, boats and other watercraft taller than nine feet will be unable to pass beneath the bridge.
MnDOT refurbished the historic Stillwater Lift bridge following the opening of the new St. Croix River Crossing bridge in 2017. The lift bridge, which opened on June 1, 2021. t serves as a bicycle/pedestrian crossing between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Along with the new St. Croix Crossing and various regional trails, it is part of a nearly five-mile long loop trail in both states.
