Bridge removal project complete on old Hwy 19 at Sulphur Lake
WILLMAR, Minn. – A project to remove the bridge on old Highway 19 over Sulphur Lake in Morton has been completed. The bridge, which had been closed to traffic since 2010, was removed for the public’s safety. The project got underway in October 2021 and work continued into December. The project was then suspended through the winter and resumed this year.
Removing the bridge and restoring the site has created a more natural environment that is available for recreational use. The project cost $730,000, and Redstone Construction, LLC, was the contractor.
