Work nears completion on Hwy 316 in Hastings
ROSEVILLE, Minn. -All Highway 316 traffic lanes, including three new compact-roundabouts, are now open as crews near completion on the Highway 316 project in Hastings.
“To the residents of Hastings, the local businesses and all those who travel on Highway 316, we want to say thank you for patience,” said MnDOT Deputy Commissioner Nancy Daubenberger. “From new pedestrian and bicycle access, and improved access, new compact-roundabouts and updated drainage, this work will benefit everyone who lives, walks, bikes or drives in the area—and with the help of our partners, this project will be finished on-budget.”
MnDOT partnered with the city of Hastings on the one-year, $5.9 million project that included:
- Reconstructing Highway 316 from the north junction of Highway 61 to Michael Avenue
- Constructing compact-roundabouts at Spiral Boulevard, Tiffany Drive and Tuttle Drive
- Repairing and updating drainage
Crews also improved pedestrian and bicycle connections between Tuttle Drive and Highway 61.
This marks the end of a process that started with planning nearly four years ago and involved input from the city of Hastings, businesses, and residents. Construction started in May 2021.
Max Steininger served as the construction contractor.
