Community members encouraged to attend virtual meeting for Hwy 71 Olivia project
WILLMAR, Minn. – Community members in Olivia are encouraged to attend a virtual meeting for the Highway 71 resurfacing project scheduled for next year. The project includes the resurfacing of Highway 71 from just south of Viking Drive to the intersection of Highway 212 and Highway 71. The project also includes the updating of sidewalks, driveways, and pedestrian crossings to meet Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards. New sidewalk will be constructed to connect with existing sidewalk in areas. A bypass lane (southbound) at Viking Drive will also be added as part of the overall project.
The Highway 71 virtual meeting allows participants the opportunity to learn more about the project, ask questions and give feedback.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.firstname.lastname@example.org or call 651-366-4720.
Travelers in twelve southwest Minnesota counties are now able to get text messages for state highway advisories, construction project updates, and public participation opportunities in the region.
