Hwy 75 temporary safety projects in Pipestone to be removed Tuesday
WILLMAR, Minn. — The two temporary safety projects, also knowns as demonstration projects, that were installed on Highway 75 in Pipestone in July are scheduled to be removed, weather permitting, on Tuesday, September 21.
Bump-outs were installed at Highway 75 and 4th Street and a median refuge island was installed on Highway 75 near 5th Street.
Demonstration projects are short term, low-cost temporary roadway projects to promote and advance walking and bicycling. Projects include, but are not limited to, bicycle lanes, crosswalk markings, curb extension and median safety islands.
MnDOT District 8 and the city of Pipestone have been collecting community input over the summer on the two temporary safety projects, but there is still time for the community to give feedback.
Information on the project, including a short survey is available at mndot.gov/d8/projects/hwy75demonstrationproject. An informational display, along with paper surveys, are available at the Pipestone City Office at 119 2nd Ave SW in Pipestone.
