Southbound I-35 traffic shift for Twin Ports Interchange project in Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. — Motorists travelling on I-35 in Duluth will encounter a shift in traffic movement as southbound I-35 is routed to Lower Michigan Street beginning the week of Sept. 27. In the coming weeks traffic will return to two lanes in each direction.
Beginning the week of Sept. 27:
- Southbound I-35 traffic will be routed onto Lower Michigan Street near Garfield Avenue and back onto I-35 just north of 27th Avenue West. This configuration will be in place through fall of 2022.
- Southbound I-35 to southbound I-535 will close. The signed detour will follow southbound I-35 to the Hwy 2 Bong Bridge.
