Public invited to tour Twin Ports Interchange project

Duluth, Minn. – You’ve seen the progress as you drive by on the interstate, now see it firsthand from ground level. The public is invited to join a guided tour the Twin Ports Interchange project area on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m. There are limited spots for the tour, and registration is required to attend the event. Please sign up by contacting Pippi Mayfield at 218-725-2834 or pippi.mayfield@state.mn.us.
Once registered, you will receive directions for parking and attending the event. Plan to wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. MnDOT will provide protective gear such as vests, hard hats and safety glasses. This will be in the project area and on uneven ground. The tour lasts about an hour.
A few of the areas and topics in the tour include Miller Creek inlet and outlet, Coffee Creek box culvert, the “tulip” area, bridge demolition, Lower Michigan bypass, railroad relocation and much more. The tour will be about one hour.
