Detour shift begins August 3 as roundabout construction enters final phase in Thief River Falls
Motorists will detour utilizing Highway 32 and Pennington county roads 14 and 31
BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is entering the final stage in the construction of the roundabout on Highway 1 at the intersection with Highway 59 in Thief River Falls. Beginning Tuesday, August 3, the intersection will be closed as crews complete the final course of bituminous pavement.
Crews will begin on the Highway 59 north leg of the roundabout while maintaining access to Petro Pumper/True North from the west. Upon completion of the Highway 59 north leg, business access to Petro Pumper and Hardware Hank will be from the north.
- Motorists will detour utilizing Highway 32 and Pennington county roads 14 and 31.
- Motorists on Pennington county road 16 will detour onto First Street and Ruby Avenue.
- Business access will continue to be maintained throughout the project.
- Westside Motors can be accessed from the frontage road.
The closure is estimated to last one day.
