Hwy 52 southbound lane closure planned July 12 to July 26 for bridge deck repairs south of Rochester
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 52 southbound will encounter a lane closure on the bridge over 36th Avenue SE beginning July 12 as crews repair the bridge deck, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The work and closure will begin in the left southbound lane while concrete is removed and replaced. Once that work is complete, the closure will move to the right lane while crews repair it. Work is scheduled to be complete by July 26, weather permitting.
Motorists may encounter lane closures or lane shifts, uneven road surfaces, equipment and other unexpected obstacles when driving near or through work zones. MnDOT advises motorists to:
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times
- Go hands-free and minimize other distractions (e.g., don’t eat or drink while driving)
- Follow posted speed limits; the fine for speeding in a work zone is $300
- Avoid making lane changes within work zones
